Little is known of Caleb's early life. He was born and raised in Farewell, Oregon, and often watched members of the Mongrels Motorcycle Club, among them Deacon St. John, as they rode through town. As a teenager, he dropped out of high school after his girlfriend became pregnant, and he began working as a mechanic. Following the outbreak in 2017, he survived for an unknown amount of time before enlisting with the Deschutes County Militia. He was stationed at the Wizard Island encampment and assigned to serve as the camp's mechanic, providing refuel and repair services. He would eventually attain the rank of sergeant.
Events of Days Gone
Following the arrival and enlistment of Deacon St. John, Caleb provides him with fuel and repair services in return for camp credits.
Following the death of Colonel Matthew Garret and the dissolution of the Deschutes County Militia, Caleb chooses to remain at the Wizard Island encampment under the leadership of James Weaver, though he relinquishes his rank of sergeant. He now operates as an independent mechanic. He mentions to Deacon that he is glad the militia no longer exists, though he misses seeing Sarah Whitaker, whom he found attractive.
- In a conversation with Deacon, Caleb mentions that he used to watch the Mongrels MC ride through Farewell. He tells Deacon that should he ever plan on starting a new motorcycle club, he would like to be a member.
