Deacon St. John (brother-in-law)
|Location||Seattle, Washington, United States|
|Appears in||Days Gone|
Little is known of Emma's early life. She was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, and is the younger sister of Sarah Whitaker, a researcher at the Cloverdale Research Iron Butte Facility in Oregon. When Sarah married outlaw motorcycle gang member Deacon St. John, it appears to have ostracized her from everyone in her family except Emma, who maintained a good relationship with both her sister and new brother-in-law.
Following the Freaker outbreak in 2017, Sarah was living in Farewell, Oregon, and separated from the rest of her family. She fled the town alongside her husband Deacon and their friend William "Boozer" Gray. However, during their flight Sarah encountered a traumatized teenage girl whom she attempted to help, later claiming that the girl reminded her of Emma. The teenage girl stabbed Sarah in the stomach before fleeing, forcing Deacon and Boozer to locate a helicopter to airlift Sarah out of Farewell, ultimately separating them for more than two years.
Events of Days Gone
During the storyline It's Not Safe Here, Deacon encounters a teenage girl named Lisa Jackson who has been surviving on her own in Marion Forks for more than two years. He decides to help her by escorting her to the camp at Hot Springs, later claiming that his memory of Emma compelled him to help the young girl.
- Emma's fate, and the fate of both her and Sarah's parents, is unknown. All three were likely still in Seattle at the time of the outbreak, and immediately lost contact with Sarah afterwards.
