Hot Springs is one of the encampments found in Days Gone. It is run by Ada Tucker.

Description[]

Prior to the outbreak, Hot Springs was a high-end resort and spa, famous for their naturally occurring hot springs. These geological features sit atop a dormant volcano, with many layers of volcanic rock under the surface soil.

After founding the Hot Springs encampment, farming was initially highly productive due to the richness of the volcanic top soil; however, over time and repeated re-sowing, growing crops became more difficult.

Ada Tucker is a former "Matron of the Women's Ward", a warden in a state penitentiary for women. As such, she has a low opinion of most survivors, believing they were "freakier than the freaks" to survive. As such, Tucker rules by Martial Law and forced labor. During visits, Deacon can observe Tucker's guards giving beatings to inhabitants, accusing them of being lazy and needing to return to work. Additionally, Deacon will overhear conversations about food, ammunition, and people going missing suggesting both that Tucker is correct that some inhabitants are ruthless and immoral, but also incorrect that a portion of the "lazy" inhabitants are exhausted and starving, with several attempting to escape.

While Tucker alternates between ruthless and pleasant, the Hot Springs encampment's relative safety is overshadowed by its tenuous grasp of order. Most inhabitants are too desperate, hungry, and weak to object; those that do may run the risk of being hunted by Alkai or becoming bounties.
