James Moore, also known as Jim, is a minor character featured in Days Gone.
He was the head of security for the Cloverdale Research Iron Butte Facility prior to the Freakers outbreak in 2017. He subsequently took over the facility and ran it as an isolationist camp alongside his security team.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Jim before the events of Days Gone except that he became highly suspicious of Deacon when the latter arrived to pick up Sarah for a riding lesson and very nearly got into a lethal confrontation with him before Sarah arrived at the gate to calm the situation down.[1]
Two years after the Freaker outbreak when Deacon and Sarah pay a visit to Cloverdale in search of a piece of equipment, it is revealed that Jim executed a number of Cloverdale's employees who attempted to exit the facility and bring their families to the facility for safety, and later took up residence in the main building with many of Cloverdale's other security guards. When Sarah and Deacon entered the facility, the guards engaged them, forcing them to kill them all. Only Jim surrendered when left alone. When asked by Sarah why he had killed the other employees, Jim's answer was simply that he "couldn't take the risk." After unlocking the lab for Sarah, Jim pleads for her to spare him, but she simply tells him the same thing--that she can't take the risk--and shoots him in the head, just as Jim had killed those employees during the outbreak. Jim's dead body can be seen as it fall later.[2]
